APRIL 2012

The Fish Factory re-opened it's rusty old doors for 2012 on March 10th with a private view and launch party. We introduced our new exhibition - Light Object Light and while closed for the winter Fish Factory also gained a new member of the team - the Epson LQ-2180. This blast from the past is a dot-matrix printer from the eighties which will be constantly printing monthly publications keeping you up to date on all the exhibitions, workshops, discussions, live music and more for each month.
The party was a great success with visitors coming from far and wide to check out the show and the Fish Factory's new look.
Fish Factory is now open to the public between 10am & 6pm Monday to Saturday and we are looking forward to a beautiful and explosively creative summer on the wharf - come and get involved!

Light Object Light Exhibition

Fish Factory New Shop

~ 10th March - 19th May

~ Light Object Light

The materiality of the image as object in contrast with the ephemeral, yet ever present digital condition. This first exhibition of 2012 at the Fish Factory Art Space explores and compares the use of both physical and digital image manipulation to express the artists' identity or agenda.

This Spring the Fish Factory is kick starting the year's exciting programme of workshops. These include life drawing, print making and creative photoshop. Keep up to date with the schedule by going to www.fishfactoryarts.com and joining our mailing list. To register an interest or if you are a workshop leader who would be interested in getting involved email us at fishfactoryarts@live.co.uk.

~~~ FISH CLUB - TUESDAYS 5-8pm ~~~
~ 5th May - 19th May
~ The Human Beast - Wild Excursions in Illustration
Philipp Boettcher
The Human Beast is a new and upcoming bunch of young illustrators with a strong bond to cartoon culture, street wear and freaky children’s animation series. The exhibition is trying to unite a very interesting young wild horde of local Cornish illustrators who want to jazz up Cornwall big time. No more boring white wall exhibition spaces and no awful college restrictions; wild and pure and definitely not serious, that is what to expect. The exhibition will include illustrators like Plymo, drawing surreal and neo gothy fantasy tales - www.phillustration.nl, Diggy, drawing and painting dreamy and fantasy inspired creatures from another world - www.diggysmerdon.com or Max K, owner of the rising Cornish streetwear label Guillotine - clubguillotine.tumblr.com
Out with the Art, in with the Artists... Once the exhibitions have come down and the Factory reverts to it's natural warehouse state, we like to celebrate! There will be drawing walls, music, beer and plenty of space to get creative...
